Each week throughout the season, standout student-athletes are recognized during Friday Night Rivals broadcasts for their exceptional achievements in athletics, academics, and community service. Over the past few months, dozens of scholar-athletes from high schools across the Lowcountry were nominated and featured, celebrating not just their athletic accomplishments but also their academic excellence and contributions to their communities. These students represent the spirit of what it means to balance hard work in the classroom with dedication on the field, court, or track.
This marked a special moment for this year’s nominees. The student-athletes had the opportunity to come together, meet their peers and Thumbs Up Guys partner Jeff Ward, and tour the ABC News station.
The winner of the Friday Night Rivals Scholarship will be announced in February.
